I spent my kittenhood outdoors living under a trailer house with my brother and sisters. One day a human came and brought me inside. I had seen humans but had never been close to one before and I was terrified. It was nice to be warm and have good food to eat though. She also got rid of the icky fleas and worms I had. Life outdoors was rough! Since then the human has been spending a lot of time with me, but I am still a little hesitant to let my guard all the way down. I let the human pick me up and pet me, and I like it enough to purr. But if the human stops petting me I am scared of what she is going to do so I want to be put down. I like it when she picks me up and sets me in her lap. I could sit there all day, it's so cozy. However I am still a bit apprehensive to climb in there myself. I used to run away when she came in the room because she is so tall and intimidating but now I realized she is just coming in to take care of me; so I stay standing where I am and accept getting pets. Especially when she brings the canned food for breakfast and dinner! Sometimes I even meet her at the door and am not scared. I am trying my best to be brave! I really love living indoors and learning how to be a house kitty. I do take good care of my fur and am working on getting used to my foster mom using a comb. It feels so nice I purr, but am not a fan of when she finds a knot she needs to get out; but I am working on it! When I was living outside I shared space with five other adult cats and I didn't mind them so I know I can live with other cats. The human here showed me a big black furry animal and I didn't get mad and hiss and growl; but I was curious and perplexed on what it was. I think it was a dog. As long as they are nice I think I could live with a dog. I need someone to adopt me that understands I will need extra time, patience and love. I want to trust humans and be a normal indoor kitty; I just need a chance. I need someone that won't allow me to hide in fear all the time and will interact with me often. I like to bat at a wand toy, but this red dot thing I have seen just confuses me. Also someone that won't get scared if I hiss would be cool. I promise I am trying, sometimes I just get scared. A quiet calm home is probably best for me because sometimes I still get scared of loud noises and quick movements. If you think you can give me the right home and are willing to give me a chance, please apply to adopt me today! Thank you 🐾 *If you would be interested in meeting a Saving Tails Animal Rescue pet or being considered for an adoption, please complete an adoption application at savingtails.org.
